A massive trade and this is no Friday news dump.
The Miami Dolphins are sending the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to the San Francisco 49er, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Filed to ESPN: Dolphins trading No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 12 pick, a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, per sources.
Blockbuster deal with massive ramifications for years to come.

The Dolphins had the No. 3 pick because of a 2019 trade with the Houston Texans that sent offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil to the AFC South team.
That deal encompassed Tunsil and wide receiver Kenny Stills, a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2021 sixth-round pick from the Dolphins. In exchange, Miami got two first-rounders (2020 and 2021) and a 2021 second-round pick. The Dolphins will also receive special-teamer Johnson Bademosi and tackle Julien Davenport.
The Niners apparently have locked in on a player they want. Could it be a quarterback in this passer-rich draft? And the big question is will they get the player they want because the New York Jets could be eyeballing a QB at No. 2 overall.
The wheels are turning and we are still a month away from the first pick — Jacksonville seemingly set on Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence — being chosen.
