The Miami Dolphins have taken some hard news during the week in each of the last two weeks in the buildup to their Week 2 and Week 3 contests — Miami got word late last week that wide receiver Will Fuller would not be available ahead of the Buffalo game. And while we’re certain Fuller wouldn’t have made up a 35 point deficit, the Dolphins offense certainly came out flat and unprepared against the Bills.
This week, it is quarterback Tua Tagovailoa that has been ruled out after several days of optimism that he would be able to play against the Raiders after it was revealed that he did, indeed, have broken ribs.
But what about the rest of the team? The Dolphins are setting up for a trip west to play the Raiders — and here are the current players whose health status is up in the air for the game. Miami has released their first injury report of Week 3:
QB Tua Tagovailoa (Ribs) – Did not participate (Ruled out on Sunday)
OL Jesse Davis (Knee) – Limited
WR Jakeem Grant Sr. (Ankle) – Limited
DE Emmanuel Ogbah (Groin) – Full
WR DeVante Parker (Shoulder) – Full
WR Preston Williams (Foot) – Limited
In a bit of good news for Miami, several players who were included on the injury report last week no long find themselves listed at all — including LB Andrew Van Ginkel and TE Adam Shaheen. But the Dolphins’ successes on Sunday are going to come down to matching withs defensively with a high flying Raiders’ offense; so Ogbah’s availability is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming days.
And then, of course, there is the offensive side of the football; where Miami has much to improve upon and must do so with Jacoby Brissett at the helm. Easier said than done, but we’ll see none the less.
