The Saints shocked the defending champ Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Week 15 Sunday night game, scoring a 9-0 shutout. However, for this prime-time contest, New Orleans’ top two quarterbacks, starter Taysom Hill and backup Trevor Siemian, are on the reserve/COVID-19 list. So, rookie QB Ian Book will make his first NFL start in this critical game.

Money line
The DOLPHINS (-180) are a good play if you want to avoid laying the points and play Miami straight up. The -180 juice is a bit pricier than I like, but it’s not terrible. You’re playing against Book, who is making his first start for the Saints, and you can expect he will make some mistakes.
Against the spread
The DOLPHINS -3.5 (+100) are a decent play on the road in this prime-time game, which looked like a dog a few weeks ago. Now, this matchup has all kinds of luster and playoff implications.
I like Miami to win, but I am a bit nervous about New Orleans RB Alvin Kamara as he is going to be the workhorse with a green QB and some receivers out. If the Dolphins can stop him, they’ll win this one handily.
Over/Under
The UNDER 36.5 (-103) is the lean, surprisingly. You used to see totals in the 20s and 30s on a routine basis back in the day, but in this day of airing it out and plenty of offense, it’s a rarity.
Even more rare is suggesting playing an Under so low, but it’s the way to go. The Saints defense is fierce, you have a third-string rookie making his first NFL start and the Dolphins have been hot, and should be successful on D, too.
It’s a perfect storm for an UNDER.
