The first day of televised workouts at the 2020 NFL Combine begins today at 4 p.m. with quarterbacks, tight ends, and wide receivers. Most Dolphin fans are looking forward to the first and second day (featuring offensive line) the most.
There are a lot of names at the draft and obviously the Dolphins cannot draft all of them. With that said, we have a list of names that Dolphin fans should keep an eye on as they seem like good fits and are realistic options with one of their picks.
Here are some of the prime candidates at the quarterback position.
Justin Herbert – Oregon
Herbert has been linked to the Dolphins for couple of seasons now. Believe those reports or not, it will be worth watching him perform. He is set to compete at the Combine in every capacity — meaning he will run the 40-yard dash and throw the football; the two biggest drills fans and teams want to see.
Jordan Love – Utah State
Love could be a wildcard in this draft with quarterbacks. Love has the arm and athleticism to shine in the NFL — and all of that will be on full display today, giving fans a chance to see what he is truly about. Love can launch a ball with a flick of a wrist but does needs to work on his refinement. The Dolphins could be very interested in Love, especially if he performs at a high level throughout this week.
Anthony Gordon – Washington State
Gordon opened some eyes at the Senior Bowl with his play in the fourth quarter of the all-star game. He is far from polished, but he still has developmental traits to be a good NFL quarterback. While he may not be a first round option, Gordon could very well be an option in day two or day three for the Dolphins — especially if they decide to double down on the position, like the Redskins did in 2012 with Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins.
