Miami Dolphins 2020 NFL Combine Watch: Offensive Tackles

Yesterday tight ends, wide receivers and quarterbacks took the field in Indianapolis for the first day of on-field testing at the 2020 NFL Combine. Today, marks the return of the big me, however — the offensive line group will conduct their own set of on-field workouts with the running backs today on Day 2.

The Dolphins have a notable need at offensive tackle, so you can be sure they’ll be watching closely as this talent group of OTs takes the field. Here are a few key names to watch for the Dolphins.

Mekhi Becton – Louisville

Becton is huge, standing at 6-7 and weighing in at 364 pounds. He is in the mold of former Miami Dolphin left tackle Bryan McKinnie. Yet despite his size, it is the mobility of Becton that stands out as a true asset when paired with his strength to anchor. He is well aware of how to use his length to his leverage when pass blocking.

Andrew Thomas – Georgia

Thomas was considered by many to be the best tackle in this draft at the beginning of football season. Since then, several others have risen to lay a claim. Nonetheless, Thomas has played at a high level for the Georgia Bulldogs, he is a notably powerful blocker in all phases. Thomas can step in immediately for the Dolphins at left tackle at a high level. His movement skills will be on full display today.

Josh Jones – Houston

Do not be fooled by his weigh in, (6-5, 319 pounds) Jones is a lean, athletic tackle with room to grow. His build is exactly how a pro scout or coach would want it. He is a little raw on the field, which could show in his drills, but his effortless movements should be easy to spot. Watch for Jones to show off his athletic frame and ability.

Offensive line is a huge need for the Dolphins and this draft has some quality talent that can help the Dolphins improve. Today will be a great day for Dolphins fans to tune in!
