Mexico emerges as ‘frontrunner’ to host NASCAR race in 2025

Mexico has emerged as a “frontrunner” to host a NASCAR race during the 2025 season. Which race could Mexico host for the Cup Series?

NASCAR has been pushing for more changes to the Cup Series schedule, including a potential international race. It almost happened for the 2024 season, but a deal with Montreal, Canada, was never reached. Now, one country has emerged as the frontrunner to host a NASCAR race during the 2025 season.

According to The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, Mexico has emerged as a “frontrunner” to host a Cup Series race in 2025 over Canada. The sport hopes to have two international races starting next season; however, Mexico appears to be the most likely option right now. It is unclear if a points race is on the table or not.

NASCAR has reportedly been pushing for the Busch Light Clash to move away from Los Angeles, California, and to Mexico. This would be a great decision that takes the Cup Series outside of the United States. Hopefully, NASCAR can figure out a way to land races with both countries, but even one would suffice for now.
