The Memphis Grizzlies (23-47) travel to meet the San Antonio Spurs (15-54) on Friday night. Tip-off at Frost Bank Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Grizzlies vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Grizzlies lead 2-0; Memphis has won both meetings by at least 12 points, splitting 1-1 against the spread (ATS) and the Over-Under

The Grizzlies have won 13 consecutive games against the Spurs since Dec. 23, 2020, which was the opening game of the season in the COVID-shortened season. Memphis has failed to cover in 6 of the past 7 meetings, however, with the Over going 5-1 across the previous 6 battles.

Memphis has dropped its past 4 games, while going just 3-4 ATS in the past 7 outings. The Over is on a 4-0 run.

San Antonio lost 113-107 to the Dallas Mavericks at home last time out on Tuesday, but it covered as a 9-point underdog as the Under (236.5) connected. The Spurs have dropped 4 of the past 5 games, but they’ve been hot against the number, going 10-4 ATS in the past 14 outings.

Grizzlies at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 109, Spurs 106

Moneyline

The GRIZZLIES (+210) are banged up, but worth a roll of the dice for the chance to double up. The Spurs (-255) just cannot seem to get out of their own way, and San Antonio still has just 15 wins on the season.

Memphis has dominated this series, and until San Antonio can start ticking off wins on the regular against the Grizzlies, keep backing Memphis.

Against the spread

If you’re a little on the conservative side, and just not feeling the GRIZZLIES +6 (-108) straight up, they’re a good play catching 3 buckets.

Memphis is a respectable 3-2 ATS in the past 5 games, while the Spurs -6 (-112) are 3-1 ATS in the past 4 outings. And while San Antonio is 5-1 ATS in 6 games as a favorite this season, it hasn’t been this large of a favorite all season. Since the Spurs struggle so much against the Grizzlies, San Antonio cannot be trusted.

Over/Under

UNDER 218 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under is on a 4-1 run for the Spurs, going for 107 or fewer points in 4 of the past 5 outings. The Under cashed in the most recent meeting in Memphis on Jan. 2, also, with a total of 204 points on a total of 237.

The Over has cashed in 4 in a row for the Grizzlies, mostly due to the fact Memphis has struggled defensively, including 137 points allowed at Golden State, and 121 points in an OT loss at Sacramento prior to that. Those are good offenses, unlike San Antonio.
