New England Patriots running back James White is a silent assassin. He produces every time he’s on the field, oftentimes carries the receiving corps and never complains.
His former Wisconsin teammate Melvin Gordon is incredibly talented, but is willing to make a little more noise. Gordon held out in the 2019 season through training camp and the first three games of the season, hoping for a better contract.
White has totaled a little over $12 million in six seasons with the Patriots, but he also has three Super Bowl rings to show for it. He’s under contract with the Patriots and set to make around $4 million in the 2020 season. White shared an Instagram post on Wednesday with a caption saying, “Don’t keep count, just keep gettin it đ¤”.
Gordon replied and said, “Tell bill get that bread right đ”.
Whether Gordon is leaning toward White receiving more money, or a potential stint in New England is unknown. But, it doesn’t appear that White is phased by the smaller contract and continued success.
White finished the 2019 season with 72 receptions for 645 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns on 95 target. He also ran the ball for 67 carries, 263 yards and a touchdown.
