The USC Trojans watched four players hear their names called during the 2023 NFL draft and a number of others ink UDFA deals and get invites to rookie minicamps.
The third USC player to get selected was Mekhi Blackmon, who joined the Minnesota Vikings alongside Jordan Addison.
Addison is rocking his No. 3 jersey, and Blackmon has decided to wear No. 11. Since the draft, Vikings Wire has provided plenty of insight into Blackmon’s arrival with Minnesota. He should play a key role on a revamped defense.
Blackmon spent his entire career with the Colorado Buffaloes before moving to USC for his final collegiate season, and the transition paid off big time.
Blackmon wore No. 6 during his time with the Trojans.
There is a lot to like about Mekhi Blackmon, and he could end up being one of the steals in the entire NFL draft after soaring up to the final pick of the third round, far above his draft grade as measured by several evaluators.
Blackmon and Addison both going to the Vikings could have a few Trojan fans watching more Minnesota games next season, and Addison’s role is going to be fun to watch alongside Justin Jefferson.
