Maxx Crosby is one of the few players for the Raiders that is having a strong season. In fact, he and Josh Jacobs might be the only two players that are actually performing at or above expectations.
Crosby is having another fantastic season as he’s already recorded seven sacks. The problem is that the Raiders have only totaled ten sacks as a team. According to CBS Sports, Crosby currently has the highest percent of a team’s sack total in the last 40 years of the NFL.
Highest pct of team's sack total over last 40 years
2022 Maxx Crosby 70.0% (7/10)
1989 Tim Harris 57.4% (19.5/34)
2014 J.J. Watt 53.9% (20.5/38) pic.twitter.com/NizhTbfSLw— NFL on CBS đ (@NFLonCBS) November 17, 2022
Crosby is playing at an All-Pro level once again. But the Raiders really need Chandler Jones (or someone else) to pick up the pace. Crosby can’t be the only player on the team recording pressures and sacks.
Until the Raiders find a pass rush opposite of Crosby, the defense is going to continue to struggle. It’s something they’ve got to fix before the end of the 2022 season.
