Thursday night’s game between the Rams and Seahawks was not a positive one on the injury front. Matthew Stafford and Russell Wilson both suffered finger injuries, Darious Williams went down with an ankle injury, Tyler Higbee had a stinger and Leonard Floyd went down on the last play of the game.
Williams has a “mild” ankle sprain and it’s unclear whether he’s going to be able to play against the Giants next Sunday, but the prognoses on Stafford, Higbee and Floyd are a bit better. Sean McVay said Friday that Stafford’s finger “feels good” after it was dislocated during the game, though he didn’t expand on it further.
Higbee is sore from his stinger and Floyd is OK after going down and giving McVay a heart attack.
“Matthew’s finger feels good,” McVay said. “Higbee is sore from the stinger that he sustained. At the end of the game, when it looked like Leonard got a little bit banged up, he was okay. He just felt like giving me a heart attack with the way that he was kind of laying there for a second. But, it seems like we came out relatively clean other than continuing to gather information on Darious.”
The Rams have some extra time to rest after playing on Thursday night, which will benefit the players who are banged up. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like Stafford’s finger injury is serious, unlike Wilson’s.
The Seahawks quarterback underwent surgery on his middle finger Friday and will be out for an extended period of time.
