Matthew Stafford comes in at No. 42 on NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2024 list

Matthew Stafford was voted the 42nd-best player in the NFL by his peers, his 7th time making the top 100 list

Matthew Stafford found himself on the fringe of the NFL MVP race last season in what was one of his best years in a long time. He didn’t wow anyone with his passing numbers (3,965 yards, 24 touchdowns), but if you watched him play, you know he was picking apart opposing defenses week in and week out.

He clearly caught the attention from his peers around the league because he was voted the 42nd-best player in the NFL for the upcoming season. It’s his seventh career appearance on the NFL Top 100 Players list, though it’s not his highest ranking; he was 27th in 2022 and 31st in 2017 and 2018.

As one of the oldest players in the league (36 years old), Stafford has shown no signs of slowing down. His arm strength is still top notch and he’s seemingly reading defenses better than he ever has.

As long as he stays healthy, the Rams are going to be contenders in the NFC and he could be a legitimate MVP candidate with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp around him. He’s set up very well for success in 2024.
