Matthew Judon denies report on contract offer

Four-time Pro Bowler Matthew Judon is denying a report on Wednesday that the New England Patriots offered him a new deal after missing practice on Tuesday.

“Matthew Judon was absent from yesterday’s practice because he seeks a revised contract. Since then the Patriots have made an offer, per source,” The Athletic’s Dianna Russini posted on X.

A fan responded to the post and tagged Judon, asking the star pass-rusher to “please accept” the Patriots’ offer. In a response to the fan, Judon denied getting a contract offer from the team.

“No they haven’t but it makes me look bad again. Don’t believe the lies,” Judon posted.

On Monday, Judon appeared to be frustrated in a conversation caught on camera at training camp with Patriots coach Jerod Mayo. In a recent appearance on the “Shut Up Marc Podcast,” he claimed that he wrote the Patriots a contract proposal, and the team never responded.

Per the Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi, as of Monday, the Patriots and Judon remain “far, far, far apart” in contract negotiations.
