Matt Rhule updates injury status of two key Huskers

The injury bug has bitten the Nebraska football team.

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule updated the injury status of two key players as the program prepares to take on Purdue this Saturday. Left tackle Turner Corcoran will miss an extended time due to a hamstring injury. Corner Tommi Hill is considered day-to-day.

The Corcoran injury is significant for the offensive line. He started every game this season for the Huskers but left Friday’s game against Illinois with the injury. Hill left Friday night’s game against Illinois with a foot injury in the first half.

This is certainly worth monitoring, as Hill has been an integral part of the defensive secondary. He has recorded 14 tackles and an interception on the year. ESPN projects him to be taken in the first round of the NFL draft.

Corcoran’s injury could make life difficult for the offensive line, while Hill’s injury may complicate things at corner. Ceyair Wright was able to step up and play the corner spot in Hill’s absence on Friday, while Gunnar Gottula took over for Corcoran.

The Huskers are set to take on Purdue this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT.
