Chicago Bears coach Matt Nagy met with reporters Wednesday as the team prepares to welcome the New York Giants to Soldier Field in Week 2 on Sunday, but as expected, questions about Allen Robinson’s ongoing contract situation were raised.
Nagy, who’s long championed Robinson as one of the best all-around football players he’s ever coached, reiterated how much he respects him.
Nagy told reporters he had a great conversation with Robinson following the social media firestorm that began after Robinson deleted all references to the Bears from his social accounts.
“He’s a super person and a super player,” Nagy said.
Nagy also suggested Bears fans shouldn’t be concerned about Robinson’s long-term future in Chicago.

As for Robinson’s state of mind?
“I think he definitely feels good,” Nagy said. “He’s confident that we want him to be here and he wants to be here. That’s ultimately the goal.”
