Matt Ioannidis undergoes successful surgery to repair torn bicep

Ioannidis was placed on the IR after tearing his bicep against the Browns, and he reportedly underwent a successful surgery on Friday.

Washington defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis tweeted on Friday morning that the surgery to repair his torn bicep went well, and he is on to the recovery process.

Ioannidis left the game last Sunday against the Cleveland Browns after injuring his arm, and was quickly ruled out of the game, coming back to the sideline with a sling. It was revealed later that he tore his bicep, sending him to the IR for the rest of the season.

This is a tough blow for Washington’s defensive line, though they luckily do have some depth that will help smooth over the loss. Expect Tim Settle to be a name that you hear a lot more of in the next few weeks as the D-line looks to step up in Ioannidis’ absence.
