[autotag]Matt DiBenedetto[/autotag] didn’t have a ride to start the 2024 NASCAR season after being full-time in 2023. DiBenedetto entered his second full-time season with Rackley W.A.R. in the NASCAR Truck Series, but the two sides parted ways in October 2023. However, Viking Motorsports picked DiBenedetto to drive the No. 38 car for select races in the Xfinity Series, and it has turned into something bigger.
According to Viking Motorsports team owner Don Sackett through Jayski, DiBenedetto will return to the No. 38 car for all of the Xfinity Series races the organization enters for the rest of 2024. Sackett said Viking Motorsports plans to do “most of the races” on the rest of the schedule, so DiBenedetto will be at the race track more often than not.
DiBenedetto has run very well in his initial five-race schedule for Viking Motorsports, with an eighth-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway and three top-20 finishes. The No. 38 car has shown decent speed with him behind the wheel, making this an easy decision. It’s an excellent outcome for DiBenedetto as he looks to build consistency in the Xfinity Series.
