Matchmaker Mick Maynard hit us with some much-needed humor before UFC Brasilia

Mick Maynard is all of us tonight.

UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard has promised to be ALL of us at UFC on ESPN+ 28. Yes. ALL of us.

Even those of us who annoy the hell out of everyone else.

That’s right, Maynard is taking his seat inside Ginasio Nilson Nelson for tonight’s behind-closed-doors UFC Brasilia event in the Brazilian capital, and he is fully aware of his responsibilities.

With no paying spectators allowed in the arena due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, Maynard knows the raucous atmosphere usually generated by the passionate Brazilian fans will be non-existent when the fighters step into the octagon.

There are crickets in the venue so you can literally…..hear crickets

But fear not, dear reader. Maynard has pledged to do his bit and contribute to the atmosphere to help make us all feel at home.

I’m going to take on the responsibility of being the “every fan” tonight. I will be leading the chants woooooooo, yell to kick him in the nuts, stand him up, whistle at the octagon girls and of course chant ooo vai morrer.

We don’t have photographic evidence to prove it, but we’re assuming he’s getting the letters “JUST BLEED” painted on his chest as we type.

Obrigado, Mick. Just promise us you won’t get into a fight with yourself during one of the “slower” bouts.
