It looked like a troubling situation with Ohio State running back Master Teague went down with an Achilles injury during the spring. He was the presumptive starter getting ready to take over for J.K. Dobbins who was off to NFL riches.
As we all know, Achilles injuries can be tricky and often take a long time to get back on the field — and an even longer time to be 100 percent back to where things were prior to injury. But Ryan Day worked magic by bringing in Oklahoma graduate transfer Trey Sermon to fill the void.
Since then, the progress of Teague’s rehab has been put on the back burner as the coronavirus pandemic threw more than just injury recovery up in the air. It was more or less presumed by many that Sermon would be the guy, and that Teague would eventually be completely ready to go later in the season and provide a good one-two punch.
However, it appears that Teague is further along now than many of us realized. In fact, according to his father Corey, Teague has recovered and could play if there were a season today. That’s not in the spring, or later in the fall, but today.
Buckeye Scoop’s Tom Orr broke the news on Saturday.
Dr. Corey Teague says his son, RB Master Teague has recovered from the injury he suffered this spring, and could play now if the season was happening.

So who will grab the starting tailback spot with both men in the fray now? We’ll have more on that later, but for now, we’re all just still hoping that we’ll see them both on the field at some point in a season.
