The Maryland Terrapins (11-3, 1-2 Big Ten) and No. 9 Oregon Ducks (12-2, 1-2) meet Sunday. Tip-off from Matthew Knight Arena is set for 4 p.m. ET (Peacock). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Maryland vs. Oregon odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.
Maryland’s 3-game win streak was snapped Thursday in a 75-69 loss to the Washington Huskies. The Terrapins failed to cover as 6-point road favorites, as the Under 148 hit. F Julian Reese led the way with 22 points and 7 rebounds while C Derik Queen, the team’s leading scorer at 15.9 points per game (PPG), was held to just 4 points.
Oregon also had a 3-game win streak end Thursday with a 109-77 loss to the No. 20 Illinois Fighting Illini. The Ducks couldn’t cover as 4.5-point home favorites as the Over 155.5 cashed. Oregon struggled inside, getting out-rebounded 43-31 and outscored 48-36 in the paint. F Supreme Cook provided a bright spot, coming off the bench to lead the team with 20 points.

Maryland at Oregon picks and predictions
Prediction
Maryland 74, Oregon 71
Moneyline
BET MARYLAND (+140).
I like Maryland to pull off the road upset here. Oregon has struggled in Big Ten play, especially on defense, giving up 182 points in just 2 games. The Ducks have failed to cover in 3 of their last 5 contests, and their inconsistency makes them vulnerable.
Maryland is a tough matchup, excelling on both ends of the court. They rank fourth in the Big Ten in scoring (85.9 PPG) and second in defense (62.1 PPG allowed). Only 2 teams have scored more than 75 points against them this season.
The Terps also lead the conference in point differential (+23.8), showing their dominance. Thursday’s loss to Washington was an off night, but I expect a strong bounce-back performance in Eugene. Maryland’s balance and efficiency should be enough to leave Oregon reeling from another Big Ten defeat.
Against the spread
PASS.
If you’d prefer to take the Terps with the points, that is more than understandable, but I’ll stick with the better odds on the moneyline.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 150.5 (-115).
Maryland’s defense should keep this game low-scoring. The Terps have hit the Under in their last 3 games, while the Ducks have been Under in 2 of their last 3. Both teams are solid on the boards, limiting second-chance points. Together, they allow just 130.8 PPG, so don’t expect a shootout. This one will likely come down to defense and efficient scoring.
