Teammate Kenny Golladay gets more notoriety for his jump-ball ability, but in 2019 it was Marvin Jones who was the master of the contested catches that really count. No other NFL wide receiver matched Jones’ production in the red zone on contested catches last season.
Pro Football Focus tracked the stats and production for every receiver, and Jones wound up with six contested catches in the red zone. That topped Chicago’s Allen Robinson by one.
Even more impressively, Jones pulled it off in just 13 games. He missed three weeks with a knee injury. Jones finished with 62 total receptions and nine TDs for the season.
