Coaching legend Marty Schottenheimer has passed away at the age of 77. The news of his passing broke on Tuesday as he had been dealing with Alzheimer’s disease since 2014.
While Schottenheimer never coached for the Jacksonville Jaguars, his son, Brian Schottenheimer, recently joined the team this month and will be their quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. Brian had worked with his father on several occasions as an assistant.
Dating all the way back to the 1980s Marty had various stints as a head coach making stops with the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Football Team, and San Diego Chargers. During his run, he accumulated a 200-126-1 record, which is good for eighth in terms of all-time wins.
