[autotag]Martin Truex Jr.[/autotag] only has four races left in his full-time NASCAR Cup Series career, and one of his biggest moments will be honored this weekend. On Tuesday morning, Joe Gibbs Racing revealed that Truex will run a special throwback paint scheme honoring his 2017 Cup Series championship at Homesatead-Miami Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Truex took the No. 78 car for Furniture Row Racing and brought it to victory lane in the Championship 4 event at Homestead in 2017, earning his first Cup Series title. While the driver of the No. 19 car is no longer in contention to win the 2024 Cup Series championship, this will be a special moment as he honors the most significant moment of his NASCAR career.

With four races left, Truex is looking to enter victory lane one more time in his farewell NASCAR season. Truex will return to the Cup Series in 2025, but it won’t be for many races as he focuses on a limited schedule. For now, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will enjoy the last four races of the 2024 season and hope that his throwback paint scheme brings back the success of 2017 this weekend.
