Martin Truex Jr. reveals the ideal number of races to run during the 2025 NASCAR season. How many times could NASCAR see Truex at the track?

[autotag]Martin Truex Jr.[/autotag] announced his intention to retire at the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR season, leaving an opening with Joe Gibbs Racing. As of now, Chase Briscoe, who is “close” to signing a deal, is regarded as the top candidate to join Joe Gibbs Racing. However, what will Truex’s future look like in NASCAR? The schedule could be pretty sizable.

On NBC Sports before the race at Iowa Speedway, Jeff Burton asked Truex what a perfect schedule would look like for the 2025 season, and he responded with “about 10 races.” It’s unclear if those 10 races would all be in the NASCAR Cup Series, but it’s more likely that Truex will join Joe Gibbs Racing for some NASCAR Xfinity Series events if there is an opening. In the Cup Series, 23XI Racing is the best fit.

Denny Hamlin already offered to enter another car for Truex in the Daytona 500, allowing him to pursue the event he has been so close to winning in the past. It will be weird not seeing Truex around the NASCAR garage as a full-time driver, but it’s great to know that he will be sticking around in some capacity during the 2025 season.
