Martin Truex Jr. announces that he will retire after the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season comes to an end at Phoenix Raceway.

[autotag]Martin Truex Jr.[/autotag] has officially made a decision on his retirement. On Friday afternoon, Truex announced that he will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has pondered retirement over the last few years but has finally made the decision to step away from NASCAR at the season’s end.

Truex currently has 34 wins in his Cup Series career, with most of them coming in the last nine years. The driver of the No. 19 car joined Furniture Row Racing and won the Cup Series championship in 2017. Truex eventually moved to Joe Gibbs Racing and has come very close to winning two more titles with second-place finishes at Phoenix Raceway.

In 2024, Truex has four top-5 finishes and seven top-10 finishes through 16 races but has come really close to winning multiple races. The goal for Truex in his final full-time season, like every other driver, is to win one more race. In fact, Truex still has the performance to compete for a championship, but one last win in his farewell season would be ideal.
