Marquise Brown ‘just scratching the surface,’ will fill role vacated by Christian Kirk

“(He’s a) dynamic guy who can kind of take the top off, inside, outside,” Kliff Kingsbury said.  “We really feel like he fits what we do.”

The Arizona Cardinals made a big move last week, acquiring wide receiver Marquise Brown from the Baltimore Ravens. Brown had his best season as a pro last season, catching 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.

That production is better than any of the Cardinals’ receivers last season and it came in a run-heavy offense as the No. 1 receiver.

The Cardinals believe he can do even more in Arizona.

After the deal was made on Thursday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said, “I think he’s just scratching the surface.”

The Cardinals love the versatility he brings to the position.

“(He’s a) dynamic guy who can kind of take the top off, inside, outside,” Kingsbury said.  “We really feel like he fits what we do.”

They lost Christian Kirk in free agency. They view Brown as his replacement in the starting lineup.

With the six-game suspension for DeAndre Hopkins, Brown’s addition went from really nice to critical.
