Mark Pope and multiple assistants watch 2025 forward Caleb Wilson

Mark Pope and three of his assistants traveled to Georgia to visit recruit Caleb Wilson.

Caleb Wilson is an elite recruit in the 2025 class, and is a target for coach Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball. On Wednesday, several suitors showed up to visit him at Holy Innocents, his school in Georgia, including Pope. Pope showed up with three of his assistants.

Wilson is 6’9″, 205 lb power forward in the 2025 recruiting class. He is rated five stars by 247sports and is their number six overall ranked player. He’s their number three power forward.

Kentucky made the cut for Wilson when he narrowed his list to 12 schools. The Wildcats joined North Carolina, Duke, Tennessee, and Alabama, among others.
Wilson is set to visit Lexington in the coming days, and so Pope getting a jump by going to see the star recruit isn’t surprising. Taking three assistants with him might surprise some, but is likely a sign of just how much importance the Wildcats coach is putting on Wilson.
