During the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 132-118 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, second-year forward Jaylin Williams appeared to hurt his knee while attempting to draw a charge in the second half.
Williams left the floor and didn’t return. He tallied 12 minutes in OKC’s 14-point loss.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said after Friday’s practice that Williams suffered a left knee sprain and the team will release additional information on the extent of the injury once they know more.
If Williams misses time, expect Bismack Biyombo and newly signed Mike Muscala to absorb Williams’ backup big minutes. The former checked into the game in the fourth quarter in what was likely Williams’ spot.
The 21-year-old has been a consistent part of OKC’s rotation. In 50 games, he’s averaged 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
