The NBA announced its 2022-23 regular season Coach of the Year winner on Wednesday. Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown won the award.
Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault finished second in the voting with 164 points. Brown had 500 points, and Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla had 77 points in third place.
Daigneault received 48 second-place votes and 20 third-place votes. He led the overachieving Thunder to a 40-42 regular season record and a 1-1 play-in tournament record.

It’s not too surprising to see Daigneault finish second in voting. He was named one of the three finalists for the award. Daigneault also admitted he had voted for Brown as NBCA’s Coach of the Year.
