Mark Daigneault confirms Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will play in season opener

SGA is back.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will have their star player back for the season opener.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault confirmed during Tuesday’s practice that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who missed all of the preseason dealing with a sprained MCL, will be available to play in Wednesday’s season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Daigneault also confirmed Gilgeous-Alexander will not be under a minutes restriction and is a full go for the game. The entire roster — minus Chet Holmgren — will be available.

“It wasn’t pleasant (rehabbing my injury) the first couple of days, but I tried to do everything I can to make sure I was good for Game 1 to get back as fast as possible,” said Gilgeous-Alexander.
