The first episode of a two-part interview with Mario Andretti premieres Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 10pm ET on MAVTV’s Racers Roundtable, hosted by racing champions Tony Stewart and Danny Sullivan. The interview features Mario’s perspectives on years of amazing racing, relationships, teams and championships that helped make him a household name. Part 2 of the interview airs at the same time next Wednesday, Dec. 11
“I hope the viewers hear things they haven’t ever heard before,” said Andretti, the 1978 Formula 1 world champion and 1969 Indy 500 winner. “Every conversation has something that is particularly meaningful, and I’m glad we’re able to talk about some of these subjects in a forum like this.
“Racers Roundtable is a place where you can speak freely about your experiences and the aspects of your life that are not normally part of the discussion. It’s also a very different format, and I think that was welcomed not only by us, but also by the fans who are tuning in. The motorsports industry is very rich and filled with special people from all of the top racing disciplines. You also have some individuals who have experienced multiple disciplines like myself, so I think its interesting to hear the different opinions. I think this will definitely resonate with the fans.”
Co-host Sullivan was the winner of the 1985 Indianapolis 500, during which he spun right in front of Mario on lap 120 as they battled for the lead but recovered to claim one of the most iconic Indy 500 wins in the race’s illustrious history.
