On a heavy day for New England Patriots fans, Marcus Smart came through with a lighthearted post.
The Boston Celtics guard has become a fan favorite after spending six seasons in the city. The ultimate fan favorite in Boston, Tom Brady, announced he’s leaving the Patriots this season.
Smart found a tweet with a hilarious photoshopped photo and capitalized on the moment — tagging Celtics owner Danny Ainge, asking for a meeting.
Hey @danielrainge , can we meet? https://t.co/ycuEb8sR9X

The Patriots are now without a franchise quarterback and Jarrett Stidham seems to be the starting option currently. There were rumors that New England had interest in Teddy Bridgewater, but he signed with the Carolina Panthers. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Patriots have plan for the position.
Also as a note…I’m told New England was never interested in Teddy Bridgewater. Patriots have a plan.

Not sure if that plan includes Smart, but that would be epic.
