Former North Carolina standout Marcus Paige is returning to Chapel Hill.
Inside Carolina is reporting Paige will join Hubert Davis staff at UNC and will fill the role that Jackie Manuel had of director of team and player development. Manuel left his role this offseason to take a job at American University.
Paige played four years under head coach Roy Williams at UNC after being a five-star recruit out of Iowa. He started 139 of his 141 games. He helped lead the Tar Heels to the Sweet 16 twice and the national championship game once in his career. He hit one of the best shots in the NCAA Tournament, tying the national championship game late against Villanova before Kris Jenkins hit a buzzer-beater.
He left UNC as the all-time leader in made three-pointers with 299 as well as attempts (798) and 3-point makes in the NCAA Tournament (39).
Paige played in the NBA’s G League before heading overseas and playing for a multiple leagues. He last played for Spanish club Monbus Obradoiro in 2022.
