Marcus Maye reports to Jets minicamp

The Jets safety, franchise-tagged this offseason, skipped voluntary OTAs.

Marcus Maye has arrived.

The Jets safety, franchise-tagged this offseason, did not attend voluntary OTA practices. But with mandatory minicamp starting Tuesday, Maye is in Florham Park, according to multiple reports.

Robert Saleh said last week that he expected Maye to report to minicamp, though it’s unclear how much action he’ll see as he and the Jets try to work out a long-term deal. Players looking for new deals typically try to limit their chances of getting hurt.

The two sides have until July 15 to ink an extension, though it’s unclear how close they are to an agreement. Maye’s one-year tag is worth $10.6 million.
