Marcus Ericsson suffers big crash during 2024 Indianapolis 500 practice

Marcus Ericsson suffered a big crash during 2024 Indianapolis 500 practice on Thursday. Watch Ericsson’s wreck from third practice!

The NTT IndyCar Series completed two days of 2024 Indianapolis 500 practice sessions without an incident; however, that ended quickly on Thursday. Chip Ganassi Racing driver Linus Lundqvist backed into the wall exiting Turn 2 and destroyed the back end. Later in the session, Indianapolis Motor Speedway claimed another wreck.

Andretti Global driver [autotag]Marcus Ericsson[/autotag] touched the curb in Turn 4 and shot up the race track. The No. 28 car spun to the other side and slammed the wall. Then, Ericsson hit the inside wall before making contact with the covered barrels at the beginning of pit road. Fortunately, the driver of the No. 28 car got out under his own power,

Like Lundqvist, Ericsson was seen and released by the infield care center, so he should be ready moving forward. The racing at Indianapolis is dangerous, as seen on Thursday. Both a rookie and Indianapolis 500-winning driver were involved in an accident. They won’t be the last to wreck during the two weeks in Indianapolis, as the race track has a history of razor thin margins.
