Mannix: Boston Celtics should look to add Jrue Holiday via trade

The Boston Celtics are rumored to be in pursuit of Holiday despite the confoundment of analysts trying to figure out how it could go down.

The trade involving Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday has been a headline-grabber in the NBA. The Portland Trail Blazers faced considerable pressure to strike a deal quickly, particularly with the looming possibility of losing Lillard. They remained steadfast in their approach, refusing to be rushed into a transaction.

The effects of this trade were felt overnight. The Milwaukee Bucks’ title odds surged, making them the favorites to win the NBA championship. And the Boston Celtics are rumored to be in pursuit of Holiday despite the confoundment of analysts trying to figure out how it could go down with the contracts Boston has control over.

Soon after news broke that the Celtics might be up for a Holiday deal, NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Mannix joined Mike Felger and Michael Holley on “Boston Sports Tonight” to talk over the contours of such a pursuit. Mannix came down in favor of such a move.
