Can we just mic MLB players up and listen to them talk in the middle of the game at all times? It’s the absolute best thing ever. Case in point: Mallex Smith’s conversation with Ken Griffey Jr. in the middle of his spring training came.
Smith was making fun of Griffey for looking “real dad-ish” today which, by the way, sounds like an absolutely delightful aesthetic.
Griffey wasn’t having that, though. He swore that he had “swag” every single day which is the exact thing that someone who looks real dad-ish would say when you call them dad-ish.
This conversation is hilarious.

Smith: “You was looking real dad-ish today.”
Griffey: “I’m supposed to. It’s spring training.”
Smith: “Maaaaan, you always looking dad-ish.”
Griffey: “I’ma look dad-ish around the people here.”
Smith: “Oh, you say you got swag when you leave the field?”
Griffey: “I got swag every day of the week.”
Listen, man. At 50 years old, Ken Griffey Jr. can look whatever way he wants to look. He will still forever be the coolest baseball player of all time. So when he says he still has swag, you absolutely believe he still has swag. Just listen to that “every day of the week” part again and you know it.
This conversation was wonderful. Please, baseball, give us more.
