It has been pointed out that Notre Dame football has not had the best success at home as favorites over the last few years.
While the Irish still do well in Notre Dame Stadium, you have to question how tough it is to play there as an opponent. Former Irish quarterback [autotag]Malik Zaire[/autotag] had some thoughts on that exact idea during today’s disappointing loss, and it was eye-opening.
He first said on X that Notre Dame “must rank last place in toughest places to play in college football.” Zaire then expanded on the thought saying “we might rank 1st in college football for the most comfortable, safest, and pleasant road game places to play.”
Zaire has a point, but it’s not completely accurate. The top-25 atmospheres are electric, with the fans being involved all game. It just happens that when a team without much hype goes to South Bend, it’s all too quiet.
