Los Angeles Lakers great Magic Johnson has built a very impressive business empire for decades. His portfolio includes a chain of movie theaters, a film studio and a stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Sparks.

Now, that portfolio had expanded to include a part of the NFL’s Washington Commanders.

For a number of years, the Commanders have been saddled with poor teams on the field, allegations of bullying and intimidation and even sexual harassment. Those allegations ultimately stem from the workplace culture created by Daniel Snyder, who purchased the team in 1999 shortly after Jack Kent Cooke, its previous owner (as well as a previous owner of the Lakers) died.

Now Snyder has officially sold the Commanders to a group headed by billionaire investor Josh Harris. That group includes Johnson, and he took to Twitter to express his gratitude for his new purchase.

Johnson continues to be a giant long after his NBA playing career ended, not to mention an inspiration and role model for the African-American community.
