North Carolina head coach Mack Brown has his team in prime positon to make a run at an Atlantic Coast Conference title. At the midway point, the Tar Heels are 6-0 and fresh off a big win over Miami last week.
As they get set to host Virginia on Saturday, Brown is now earning some more national recognition.
This week, Brown was named to not one but two midseason coach award watch lists. First it was the Bear Bryant list and then a few days later, he appeared on the Dodd Trophy Midseason Watch List.
Brown is one of 20 coaches on the midseason watch list, as it represents the Power Five conferences, as well as the AAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt and an independent.

Brown is in his second stint as head coach at North Carolina and earlier this year became the first FBS coach to win 100 games at two different schools, also accomplishing the feat at Texas.
