At this time last year, there was a lot of hype for the UNC football program going into the season. The Tar Heels were the No. 10 team in the first preseason polls of the year and then suffered their first loss in Week 1 at Virginia Tech.
In the end, UNC’s season was a disappointment as they barely reached a bowl game and then were dismantled by South Carolina. But going into this year things are different.
There’s not a lot of hype around the Tar Heels despite receiving some votes in both preseason polls. Instead, there are a lot of questions for the Tar Heels and [autotag]Mack Brown[/autotag] admitted as much on Tuesday when he met the media.
“I’ve never been this close to a season with so many question marks,” Brown said following practice at the Koman Practice Complex via Tar Heel Illustrated.
The biggest question surrounding UNC is the quarterback battle between Drake Maye and Jacolby Criswell. A battle that has continued on here in Mid-August and there are no signs of it ending soon.
Other questions for this team include the offensive line, targets at wide receiver and even some questions in the secondary for Brown and his team.
The good news is that these can be ironed out as the season goes on and maybe flying under the radar is a good thing for the team. But one thing is for certain, this will be a big challenge for Brown in his fourth year back.
