Mac Jones entered the 2020 college football season as Alabama’s starting quarterback, but not without plenty of doubters. Not only did he prove them wrong, but he blew all expectations out of the water.

As a Heisman-finalist and one-year starter, Jones is slated to be the second consecutive Alabama quarterback to be drafted in the first round, following Tua Tagovailoa.

Jones joins a quarterback class that includes Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, Ohio State’s Justin Fields, BYU’s Zach Wilson and others.

NFL analyst and quarterback guru Chris Simms released his top quarterback rankings in the 2021 NFL draft class.

Mac Jones makes a surprising appearance inside the top three.

The list is controversial for some, but for reasons other than Jones’ position.

Lawrence is the assumed No. 1 overall pick, but Simms has Wilson ranked higher. He also includes Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond, which many have overlooked in the draft class.
