Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Luguentz Dort suffered a right knee injury on Wednesday night against the Miami Heat and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest, the team announced.

Dort collided with Heat forward Jae Crowder during the first quarter as the two players appeared to bang knees with each other. Dort would get up and walk off of the floor to the locker room under his own power but was ruled out to return.

Dort played just seven and a half minutes prior to leaving the game, recording two points and one rebound. He was replaced by Abdel Nader in the lineup.

Dort emerged as a key player for the Thunder prior to the season suspension and the team rewarded him by upgrading his two-way contract to a standard NBA deal. The team will be holding their breath with his injury but it was likely a good sign he was able to walk off of the floor.
