Rushing attack
One area where the Tigers need to be more productive is the rushing attack on offense. Not to say that LSU doesn’t have capable running backs, but last week the production was short of expectation when Myles Brennan was struggling in the pocket.
Chris Curry led the team last week with 47 rushing yards on nine carries. Tyrion Davis-Price had 11 carries for 43 yards and John Emery Jr. finished with seven carries for 27 yards.
If Brennan has trouble in the passing game, the running backs will have to step up and help drive the team down the field. All three tailbacks have high expectations, and each one could end up with a solid game against a Commodores rushing defense that gave up 183 total rushing yards last week.
The Tigers had 80 rushing yards as a team last week in their loss. Getting the backs established early will be a key factor, but expect the Commodores to be ready for the run from LSU.
