Heading into Saturday’s matchup between the LSU Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks, we knew graduate transfer Collin Hill would be taking the field for the visiting team, while true freshman passer TJ Finley took snaps for the home squad.
What we didn’t know was just how much the less experienced signal-caller would outshine a more veteran presence.
It shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise, though, considering how highly-touted of a recruit Finley was and how Hill’s passing yardage had steadily declined by the game throughout the season.
Hill’s performance hasn’t been anything worth writing home about roughly midway through the fourth quarter, as he’s 10-of-18 passing for 220 yards without a touchdown pass and with one interception.
