The LSU Tigers and several other football programs across the country have suffered the negative effects of restrictions surrounding coronavirus — but the pandemic hasn’t slowed down recruiting.
LSU 2021 recruiting class moved into the top five after highly-touted prospect Keanu Koht committed to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
Toward the beginning of the week, the class was ranked No. 9 in the nation, now standing at No. 5 in the country, according to 247Sports. The group is also the highest-ranked one without a five-star recruit.
“First I would like to thank God for everything he has guided me to foresee and work through; I thank him for the people he has blessed to be a part of my life and journey up to this point,” Koht wrote when he made his announcement. “They are a pivotal factor in me becoming the young man I am today. My path so far has made me wiser, humble, self-demanding and hard working.”

Koht chose LSU over the likes of other prestigious programs like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Texas, Oregon and Miami.
LSU now has 15 players in its 2021 class, leaving 10 spots open.
