LSU’s Kim Mulkey explains what has changed since Tigers’ loss at Auburn

LSU head coach Kim Mulkey recently discussed the change in the mentality of the team since the Auburn loss.

On Jan. 14, the LSU women’s basketball team was stunned on the road by the Auburn Tigers 67-62. It was the first loss for the Tigers after going on a 16-game win streak following a loss to Colorado at the start off the season.

Since then, the Tigers have won two conference games in a row and neither of them has been close. LSU won 78-58 against Alabama and 99-68 against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

“Composure. Leadership in practice. In the Auburn game, we were all looking for someone to make a play and that goes for me as a coach as well,” Mulkey said, per On3. “(Tonight), they were playing very confident, very free, passing the ball up the floor, just doing a lot of active things. The crowd got into it and it was one of those games that was entertainment.”

LSU has a huge matchup on Thursday as it welcomes the No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks to Baton Rouge.
