LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is undoubtedly one of the most impressive players we’ve seen on defense in the history of college football.
It takes rare players to make up the most elite teams in the nation, and Stingley’s level of talent is hard to come by.
It’s easy to see the void created when Stingley is sidelined, which was highlighted by the games in which he was absent in 2020.
Stingley is a highly effective player overall but has particularly risen above the others at his position in a specific category.

Over his two-year LSU career, Stingley currently posts 65 total tackles (50 solo), six interceptions and 20 passes defensed.
Expect him to be a continued force as LSU opens the 2021 football season on the road against UCLA on Sept. 4 in Rose Bowl Stadium.
