The LSU Tigers men’s basketball team is officially on the NCAA Tournament bubble after losing four of their previous five games.
The Tigers were expected to have another opportunity for a signature win on Saturday when the No. 22 Florida Gators came to town.
However, that game is off the table — at least for now.
The SEC announced on Friday the game would be postponed due to COVID-19 issues with the Florida program.
The SEC released the following statement.
The Florida at LSU men’s basketball game of February 6 has been postponed due to a combination of positive tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Florida basketball program, consistent with Southeastern Conference COVID-19 management requirements. A make-up date has not been determined at this time.
The league did not announce a makeup date for the game.
The two teams met back on Jan. 2 in Gainesville when the Gators edged the Tigers, 83-79.
The Tigers are scheduled to travel to Mississippi State on Wednesday.
