LSU women’s basketball ranked No. 5 in AP Poll after Louisiana win

Where did LSU women’s basketball fall in this week’s AP Poll?

LSU women’s basketball dropped one spot in the latest AP poll rankings despite remaining unbeaten.

The week seven edition of the poll has the Tigers at No. 5. They are the second-highest team behind No. 2 South Carolina. UCLA remains at the top, while Notre Dame and UConn rank No. 3  and No. 4, respectively.

The Fighting Irish (9-2) rose from No. 8 to No. 3 following a win over the Huskies, then ranked No. 2, and a 118-49 romping of Eastern Michigan within the last week. The loss dropped UConn to fourth.

USC (No. 7) and Texas (No. 6) exchanged places from last week’s release. The Longhorns and Oklahoma (No. 10) give the SEC four teams in the top 10 of the week seven poll.

Next up on LSU’s schedule, head coach Kim Mulkey and team hit the road for two games in the next four days. The Tigers play Seton Hall on Tuesday and Illinois-Chicago on Thursday before returning to Baton Rouge for an afternoon contest against Albany on December 29.
